Over the past few years, I have become accustomed to sleeping with a humidifier. It helps me to breathe easier at night, allowing me to sleep better and I find I wake up feeling much better. When I sleep at a relative’s house without a humidifier, I always feel like crap when I wake up in the morning. My humidifier is too big to bring with me everywhere I go though. Then, I took a new job that requires me to travel all over the country. I sleep away from home about four nights a week, which is not good if I’m not getting good quality sleep for more than half of the week.
Outside of the sleep issue, I love my new job and the ability to travel, so quitting wasn’t an option. Then someone suggested to me that I get a portable humidifier. I didn’t even know they existed! My humidifier at home, while good, is HUGE! I didn’t know how they could fit the same functionality into something small enough to travel with. Then I discovered the Air-O-Swiss AOS Travel Ultrasonic Humidifier, and I’ll never travel without it ever again.
Coming from using a full sized humidifier, when you first the the Air-O-Swiss, you wonder how it would ever be able to be effective at such a small size. I try not to judge a book by its cover though, and decided to give it a shot. It is a fairly small unit and requires you to use your own water bottle to supply the water. It doesn’t have to be a special bottle – any water bottle from the convenience store will work perfectly. Just screw it on inverted on the top of the unit.
When I went to sleep with it for the first time, I was still skeptical that it would be enough. As I was drifting off to sleep though, I was already noticing a difference in my breathing, which was a promising sign. I dozed off and when I woke up in the morning, I was truly amazed. Not only did I wake up feeling great and fully rested, but I could’t tell the difference at all between this humidifier and the big one I was using at home. I’m even contemplating replacing my big humidifier at home with this unit so I can keep it on my bedside table.
I could go on and on about how much I love this little thing, but if you’ve never used a humidifier to sleep with, then you likely won’t know just how beneficial something like this is. My suggestion is to just go straight for this unit and skip the big bulky ones. It’s cheap enough and it’s a great way to test out how you react to a humidifier (here’s a hint: you’ll love it) while sleeping. If you’re anything like me, you’ll never want to sleep without it again. Don’t think twice, just go out and buy one!
